Terms of Service

By installing or using MaddOptions (the "App"), you ("Merchant") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not install or use the App. These Terms apply to all users of the App, including merchants and their authorized staff accounts.

MaddOptions is a Shopify embedded application that allows merchants to create custom product option sets for their Shopify storefront. Features include:

• Custom option fields (text, color swatches, image selectors, dropdowns, file uploads, and more)
• Price adjustments per option choice
• Conditional logic to show or hide fields
• Product and collection assignment
• Multi-language translations
• Sales reporting and revenue analytics

The App operates as a Theme App Extension within your Shopify store and requires an active Shopify subscription.

MaddOptions offers the following subscription tiers, billed through Shopify's Billing API:

• Free — $0/month. Includes up to 2 option sets, 5 product assignments, and core field types.
• Pro — $9.99/month or $107.89/year. Unlimited option sets, all field types, conditional logic, price add-ons, import/export, and up to 10 templates.
• Unlimited — $19.99/month or $215.89/year. Everything in Pro plus multi-language translations, 20+ templates, revenue reporting, and advanced features.

All charges are processed by Shopify and subject to Shopify's billing terms. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled. You may cancel at any time through your Shopify admin. No refunds are provided for partial billing periods except where required by law.

New merchants may be eligible for a free trial period at paid plan tiers. The trial period and eligibility are determined at the time of installation. After the trial ends, your plan will automatically convert to a paid subscription unless you downgrade or cancel.

You agree not to use MaddOptions to:

• Violate any applicable law or Shopify's Platform Terms of Service
• Collect or store sensitive personal data (such as payment card information) through option fields
• Transmit malicious code, spam, or harmful content via option fields
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the App's source code
• Resell or sublicense access to the App without our written consent

Your use of MaddOptions is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. We store only the data necessary to operate the App (option set configurations, shop credentials, and app settings). We do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising purposes.

MaddOptions and all related software, design, trademarks, and content are the exclusive property of MaddOptions and its licensors. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our intellectual property beyond the limited license to use the App as described herein. Option set configurations you create within the App remain your property.

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The App may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for any losses arising from service interruptions.

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR THAT ANY DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MADDOPTIONS AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE THREE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless MaddOptions and its operators from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of or in connection with your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App or any part of it at any time with reasonable notice. We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will notify merchants of material changes via the App or email where feasible.

Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. You may terminate by uninstalling the App from your Shopify admin. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the applicable courts of competent jurisdiction.
