Privacy Policy

MaddOptions ("we", "our", or "the app") is a Shopify embedded app that lets merchants create custom product option sets for their storefront. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we keep it safe.

When a merchant installs MaddOptions, we collect and store:

• Shop domain and access token — to authenticate API requests to Shopify on your behalf.
• Option sets, fields, and assignments — the custom options you create inside the app, stored in our database so they persist across sessions.
• App settings — your theme customizations, translation entries, and plan preference.

We do not store customer personal information. Customer selections on the storefront are passed directly to Shopify as order line item attributes and are not retained by MaddOptions.

• Displaying your option sets on product pages via the storefront extension.
• Storing and restoring your builder configuration between sessions.
• Generating the sales report by reading your Shopify order data (read-only, never stored).
• Authenticating your session securely using Shopify OAuth.

All data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Replit and protected by environment-level access controls. Access tokens are encrypted in transit via TLS. We never share your data with third parties and do not sell merchant or customer information.

MaddOptions integrates exclusively with Shopify's APIs. We do not use external analytics, advertising, or tracking services. Shopify's own privacy policy governs data processed through their platform.

We support Shopify's mandatory GDPR webhooks:

• Customer data request — We acknowledge receipt and confirm that MaddOptions does not store personal customer data.
• Customer redact — We acknowledge receipt. No customer PII is stored by MaddOptions.
• Shop redact — When a shop uninstalls MaddOptions and requests data deletion, we permanently delete all option sets, assignments, sessions, and settings associated with that shop.

Your app data (option sets, settings, etc.) is retained as long as your store has MaddOptions installed. When you uninstall the app, your session is deleted immediately. You may also request full data deletion at any time by contacting us at the address below, or by uninstalling the app.
